Ideal Southern Lake District Hotel

Lymehurst is an ideal Hotel on the Southern reaches of the Lake District from which to explore the many attractions of the Lakes. Even though we are to the South of the Lakes it never takes long to drive anywhere when you have the beauty of the Cumbria's Lakes and Fells to make the drive pass quicker. There are also a variety of organised excursions available locally and Grange-over-Sands is easily accessible by road or mainline railway with a direct line from Manchester

For those wanting to spend time relaxing in the town there is the lovely promenade, attractive ornamental gardens, a wide selection of tearooms and many interesting local shops.

Grange over Sands is known as the Lake District Riviera due to the gentle climate resulting from its sheltered coastal position. The views across the bay are spectacular and ever changing. The local fells provide stunning scenery and are easily accessible.

Numerous local walks start close to our Lake District Hotel, such as the Hampsfell Nature Trail, the Cistercian Way, and the Cumbria Coastal Path. For the more intrepid there are guided walks across Morecambe bay and the Cumbria Cycle Way. These can easily be combined with the excellent public transport by road or rail to provide a convenient return journey.

Our Lake District Hotel is close to The Lake District National Park, with Coniston and Windermere only a short drive away.

Arnside and Silverdale - designated "areas of outstanding natural beauty" are also close by.

Renowned bird watching sites such as Leighton Moss, Morecambe Bay, Humphrey Head and Walney Island can all easily be reached from the hotel.

The beautiful medieval village of Cartmel is close to Grange, with its historic Priory, charming craft shops, Cartmel Races, and of course it’s famous Sticky Toffee Pudding, which is a local delicacy!

There are plenty of historic properties to visit such as Sizergh Castle, Levens Hall with its unique topiary garden, and Holker Hall with its award winning gardens and Lakeland Motor Museum.
